Jack,

I like Twitter because it allows me to connect with new people that I would have never met otherwise, like you said. I also like the fact that I can read what everyone has to say in short blurbs rather than long-winded posts. If I like what they have to say, or if it sounds intriguing then I will click on the link and check it out.

It has become my first "go to" page when I get online now!

I even wrote a humorous poem about it titled, "It's Not Your Daughter's Twitter Anymore"

Have an Outstanding rest of the night (especially if you are reading this a 3:00am because your dog woke you up, lol)

OutsideMyBrain

P.S. My wife just laughed because I'm talking about long-winded posts while writing a long-winded comment. LOL. Another reason I like Twitter... for my own protection.

I like the electronic 'bush telegraph' element of Twitter, and the immediacy of news breaking, support and idea sharing. Brings the world into a very cosy corner of life.

The creator of Twitter is a genius in my opinion. Its so clever, firstly because it limits you to 140 characters then because of the way it is structured enabling you to connect with so many people. You bulid up a level of trust and respect and then you can network and market your business.
Twitter personifies what blogging is all about in my opinion

Twitter is like eavesdropping on the entire world. Someone recently referred to Twitter as the world's biggest water cooler, and I tend to agree.

I didn't get it at first either. When I first started, I didn't have any followers and didn't know anyone on it. Then one of my blog friends found me and it just took off! I love it for all the reasons everyone up there mentioned, but also because it has more than doubled my stats on my blog!

The really really awesome part about this post? The label. lol. I'm a "cool tweeter!" ;)

I like the fact that I'm learning more and more about how social networking "works," and appreciate all the great new resources and friends I've made.
